Summer 2021 Internship with the Hemingway Letters Project

The Hemingway Letters Project, a major documentary editing project headquartered at Penn State and being published by Cambridge University Press, is hiring a student intern for summer 2021. The intern works closely with the Associate Editor (Dr. Verna Kale) and other Project personnel to maintain the archives of the Hemingway Letters Project and to carry out other research, writing, bibliography, and general office support tasks involved in the production of this multi-volume scholarly edition of the author's some 6,000 letters, The Letters of Ernest Hemingway.

We are seeking motivated students who work well both independently and collaboratively and who have experience with One Drive, Box, Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat and Google Drive. Familiarity with the Penn State libraries' digital and print information sources as well as experience with data entry is particularly desirable. Meticulous attention to detail is required.

We anticipate that the student will work in person in the Hemingway Letters Project campus offices in accordance with University health and safety guidelines; however, delivery mode of the internship may be subject to change to a hybrid or a remote model if needed. The pay rate is $11 per hour, 10 hours per week for a minimum of six consecutive weeks and up to 13 weeks between 17 May 2021 and 14 August 2021. Interns will be acknowledged in the edition(s) of the Letters to which they contribute.

Review of applications for Summer 2021 will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled; students who wish to be considered for both Summer 2021 and Fall 2021 positions may submit one application but should indicate their intentions in their cover letter. To ensure fullest consideration, please submit your documents by April 9.
