Gulf Coast Undergraduate Research Symposium

Rice University will host the 10th annual Gulf Coast Undergraduate Research Symposium (GCURS) on Saturday, October 6, 2018, on the Rice campus in Houston, Texas. They welcome undergraduates conducting research in engineering and natural science fields to apply to GCURS. GCURS is not your usual poster session. In fact, they do not allow posters! Participants present original research discoveries in 12-15 minute individual, oral presentations to scholars from around the world. Following the presentations, faculty mentors provide coaching to each student. Past participants have shared that GCURS helps to foster interdisciplinary, intercollegiate fellowship. The application deadline is September 12. Accommodations are provided to accepted participants traveling to Houston from outside the area, and limited travel awards are available.
