Microbiology Undergrad Research Opportunity
Dr. Yang’s lab in the Department of Biological Sciences is looking for an undergraduate who is interested in acquiring some research experience. The minimum requirement is a 3.0 GPA and an interest in microbiology and molecular biology.
You would be working closely with a graduate student in the lab on a project related to the bacterial type IV pilus (T4P). The T4P is well-known bacterial virulence determinant and its retraction generates the strongest force among known biological motors.
Preference will be given to students with a sophomore or junior standing and a commitment to scientific inquiry in the long term. If you are interested in exploring this opportunity, please email Keane Dye at kjdye@vt.edu a resume including your GPA and the relevant classes you have taken.
