Neuroscience lab looking for a part-time research technician

A part-time technician position is available in a Virginia Tech Carilion Research Institute Laboratory investigating brain response to emotional distress using animal models. Your responsibilities would include: managing mouse colony, running behavioral tests on mice, immunohistochemical analyses of brain tissues, and assistance with general lab needs.

Skills this position requires:

• Good communication skills

• Demonstrated ability to recognize abnormal behavior and clinical signs in laboratory animals

• Demonstrated ability to follow instructions

• Prior laboratory experience is desirable but not absolutely necessary

• You must be available to work during afternoon hours
