Seminar: The Social Life of DNA

Alondra Nelson, Dean of Social Science and Professor of Sociology at Columbia University will give a lecture titled, "The Social Life of DNA: Race Reconciliation after the Genome" on Friday, April 7 at 2 pm in Torgersen Hall 3100. Alondra Nelson is an award-winning author who works at the intersection of science, medicine, and social inequality.

Her work has been supported by the Ford, Mellon, and National Science Foundations and sits on the editorial boards of Social Studies of Science, Social Text, and Public Culture. Her essays, reviews, and commentaries have appeared in the New York Times, the Washington Post, and Science.
